Hello. The people I have such a situation. There is a self-written Internet store, I was going to make a relink on it. But in Google webmaster, I saw huge numbers. 16k internal pages refer to the category I need (others -/+ as well). Looking at the code, it turns out that the sidebar site with the menu (categories) of products is part of the page.
So the question is: is this normal?
Is there any benefit or harm from this?

Most likely, such a number of links appeared due to the presence of duplicates on the site and the lack of canonical URLs. In simpler terms: the same product is available through three or four links. For example:

mysite.com/product/tovar-1
mysite.com/tovar-1
mysite.com/?tovar=1

This needs to be dealt with, primarily with the help of rel=canonical. Also, some links can be limited with rel=nofollow. So that Google does not follow them, but they are active.
