Sending via gmail and problems with spam filters

We plan to send letters from the site to the mail via the gmail smtp server. The content of the letters is confirmation of registration, notification of events on the site, and personal messages. Nothing forced, a link to unsubscribe in the letter, everything is as it should be. The number of letters is less than a thousand per day, and may increase over time.

How likely are problems with spam filters? I would like to hear from those who have used this scheme. Would it be better to send emails from your own server? Or maybe you should use some third-party service? What do you recommend?

There should be no problems with antispam, except for very harsh servers, because gmail prescribes all the required headers confirming the authenticity of the sender, etc. But gmail won't let you send that many emails through it. My limit is 500 per day.
There are mailing services, but in my opinion they are not suitable for notification letters, they are more likely for sending advertising, etc., when one text of the letter needs to be sent to many recipients at the same time. There is also Amazon SES, I think it will do, but I didn’t work with it and it’s naturally paid.
In principle, you can send from your server without any problems, you just need to take care of its settings a little. If your mail server is exim, then this article is enough for at least a start: habrahabr.ru/blogs/sysadm/114852/ .
Another point, if a decent number of letters are sent by their site, make sending letters asynchronous, otherwise sending them to the mail server may delay the response to the user for a long time
