semantic-ui and gulp?

Hello. Has anyone put together a project? I did everything according to the instructions, it turned out to install. In my main directory there are dev folders (I edit files here) and public (after compilation). After installation, the semantic folder appeared, by going to which you can also run gulp watch and it will monitor changes. So which folder should I work in? Do I need to add something to my main gulpfile? Which is in the main directory. I got confused, because I started working with Gulp not long ago, so I ask for help to figure it out.
