Selling video content

Hello!

In general, an interesting task arose at work, for the second day I have been thinking how to implement it.

Task: Organize the sale of video material through the site. Organize user registration, video selection catalog, video purchase, watching videos on the site (in your personal account).
It is also worth mentioning that many people will watch the video at the same time, from different parts of the world.

What I was able to dig up in two days and what problems arose:
For all purposes regarding organizing a catalog, selling, paying, registering users and buying content, opencart was ideal for a little while working on it with a file, I made it display a video instead of products and even show it.
And then the question arose, where to store the video? Actually on the hosting it is not a variant to do this (heavy load). The client does not want to buy cloud servers for video, pay for traffic and servers. There are video services like youtube or vimeo.

And here the problem arose: How to give people the opportunity to watch videos from YouTube only on my site?
I came up with the following scheme: A person visits the site, makes a purchase, gets access to the personal account. My site can log in to YouTube using api under a certain user who has access to vidos and receives private videos using the same api and shows them to the user.

Here two problems arose at once:
1. I didn’t really understand YouTube’s fancy api :(
2. Everything is much simpler on vimeo, I organized the login and getting the user's video, BUT to start working with vimeo via api, you need to log in. And this step should not be for the user. It is necessary that the site logged in under a specific user! Which will be registered somewhere in the configs.

In general, I'm very interested to hear how you would implement this task. And it is also interesting whether it is possible to somehow implement my scheme?

You can simply upload the video not to youtube, but to Google Drive. There you can share them for specific users. This will be much easier. =)

By the way, as an option to make the video available only by link (youtube has such an option). And embed them on your page.
Of course, a person will be able to click on “watch on Youtube”, but having already paid for the material, this will not be so important ...

You can use https://golo.pro to sell digital goods up to 500 mb. Easy registration and withdrawal via webmoney! Very comfortable... I love it!
