It depends on what is meant by security: encryption of dialogues, like Durov’s, or an application password-protected from his wife :)

If you do not need to be tied to the device, there is no absolute messenger. If linked to a personal phone, then "ViPNet Client for Android", all traffic is packed inside. As a messenger, a corporate mail server, no?
Similarly, "Continent TLS VPN".
There are certified versions - which "can be considered" more than safe :)

JAMI is still damp but you can use
