Second higher education or certificates?
Hello!
Now I work as a system administrator with a higher economic education and I want to develop in this area, but some vacancies require a technical tower. How important is this for an employer? In my opinion, certificates in the spirit of RHCSA can be a substitute for technical education, but what do you think?
Thanks for answers!

Good evening!
It will greatly depend on the employer.
In large companies, the technical tower will have priority. Certificates - as a specific requirement of a particular employer, or - an advantage over other candidates.
For medium and small companies, the difference between a certificate and a tower is starting to blur.
Much more than certificates and diplomas, experience and specific skills are valued. In this regard, I advise you to focus on training, which gives a maximum of practice. A person who knows how, always has an advantage over a graduate student without experience.
Good luck with your work!
Good afternoon, if you have one education and it is technical, it seems to me there is no point in getting a second education.
As it is written in the previous post, the first thing to be valued is, of course, experience.
But in more or less serious companies, specific certificates and some other papers with official confirmation of your knowledge can serve as a pass for an interview. Those. You use them to embellish your candidacy in front of other candidates when applying for a job.
If in this regard we compare certificates from vendors and higher education of an ordinary university, then certificates certainly win. If your university is at MIT)))
Thanks for your reply, ifaceman!
I agree with you, real skills are paramount.
