Script for sending SMS via mail.ru agent?

There was a wonderful article on the topic of sending SMS via mail.ru agent. habrahabr.ru/post/150050/ Apparently, something has changed in the protocol over the year and now there are troubles in its work. He constantly swears that he cannot get some of the data out of the packets, sending works every other time. The only criterion by which it can be assumed whether an SMS will be sent or not is the ip of the server, which is issued for a request to mrim.mail.ru:2042. If this ip starts with 217, then most likely the SMS will be sent, but if it starts with 94, then no. What does it mean? Different protocol versions on different servers? I was unable to find an up-to-date description of the protocol. Messing with wireshark - I'm afraid I don't have enough time and skills. Does anyone have a working script? Preferably pythonic.

IMHO, no free SMS service will provide a 100% guarantee of message delivery.
Sending SMS via the Internet with a sane api will cost you about 30 kopecks apiece.
