Screen resolution is higher than nominal

Good afternoon, I bought a touch netbook with a small resolution a long time ago (max. 1024x600).
Everything would be fine - but metro applications do not want to start.

Googled the solution, but alas, I could not get anything more than 1024x768. Is it possible to change the resolution to a higher one, or run metro applications with this?
