Screen replacement on HTC DHD?

There is a DHD with a small crack on the matrix, but the glass is intact. It doesn't really bother me, but it causes some discomfort. I would go to the SC, but for some reason I don’t want to lay out almost half the cost for replacing the matrix.

Therefore, the idea arose to try to do it yourself. I have no experience in disassembling such high-tech devices, but I have more than a dozen disassembled and assembled radios, players, tape recorders and other garbage. In this regard, a lot of questions arise.
1. There are many different displays on ebay, ranging from $40 to $150, almost all of them are labeled "original" or "OEM", and most of them are simple LCDs, not S-LCDs (at least that's what it says ). With those that are more expensive, the kit comes with a touch (digitizer) and the tools necessary for replacement. Are these displays generally normal?
2. Do I need to change the touch and glass when replacing the display?
3. Is complete sterility required during disassembly?
4. In this video, everything is filmed down to the smallest details, like sticky rubber bands. It's just hard to understand why they do it. Either just like that, or these parts interfere with removing the board from the case.
5. After removing the front panel, it seems to be placed for 10 minutes on a heater with a temperature of 60 degrees. Why is this? Can a hair dryer be used?
6. After disassembly, will there be any disposable parts left, like the same sticky rubber bands?
7. Will there be any play after assembly?
8. Not in vain did I start all this? (: Or is it not possible to do such an operation in artisanal conditions?
Thank you.

2. You do not need to change the entire screen, just change the digitizer. Had a similar experience with Iphone 3G.
3. You can do it yourself, but very carefully (dust can get in, parts can be damaged). In any case, think twice before doing anything yourself.
4. They just disassemble it entirely, in your case I don’t know. depends on the fasteners.
5. Let the adhesive that attaches the digitizer to the screen be released.
6. How to assemble.
7. Backlash should not appear.
8. Perhaps, but it is better to consult a specialist. (I didn’t feel sorry for the piece of iron then, so I messed around myself).

If my eyes do not fail me, then you just cracked the outer glass. If the LCD itself cracked, then at least nothing would be visible in this corner. If the parts are not dusty, they will stick back without problems.

Contact the guys who are engaged in repairing phones, they changed the screen for me for 700 rubles, and they will also advise which screen to buy.

Those who advise you to change it yourself, have you ever tried to peel off the glass from the matrix on such devices?
I bought on eBay about 5 times displays or touchscreens for phones. In 100% there was some kind of jamb, from disgusting color reproduction to complete inoperability.

Had a deplorable experience of replacing the touch screen on the iPhone 3Gs. It was someone else's iPhone. Decided to make some money.
1. The touchscreen waited 2 weeks, I bought it on eBay. While everything was being taken out, the cable from the LCD was broken. But I didn't notice it right away.
2. I tried to replace the touchscreen, but since I realized I broke the LCD, I had to buy a new LCD + touchscreen. Prod fooled his head for two weeks, as a result, a month later it came. Stupid prod mixed up and sent for 3G, but I needed for 3Gs. Surprisingly, they are distinguished by some microscopic crap on the trains and that's it.
3. I went to the service, gave 100 bucks for the replacement of the LCD and touchscreen. Service about two weeks I repaired it all. I visited this service six times. At first, some kind of throttle flew in my iPhone, and they don’t have a new one and never will. Surprisingly, this throttle is stupid nowhere to buy. Then somehow they cunningly repaired the throttle. Then the backlight of the display did not light up. One day, I came to pick up an iPhone. Forgot to put the camera in there. Epic Fail.
Two months of wasted time, over $200 in damages. I don’t touch iPhones anymore, away from sin)
