Samsung ssd 840 pro, how to enable hardware encryption?

Good afternoon! I have a drive, how do I enable hardware encryption? Samsung Magice says that you just need to set a password for the BIOS and that's it ... but something is hard to believe.

How can I find out if it's encrypted or not?

Check on another computer or with livecd.
In general, forget about encryption, because you will lose it completely, and stomp here with the question "how to recover data from an encrypted partition?"
