Sample scripts for testing disk and network speed?

Good afternoon. There is a need for a script(s) that would load the hard disk and network as much as they themselves allow for a short period of time, followed by the return of peak values. Are there similar examples in, say, Lua?

Actually, the scripts themselves are needed in order to allow Rainmeter to estimate the maximum network bandwidth and disk read-write speed, for further manipulations with these numbers.
