Ruby on Rails API, started, gave the port, and then what?

Help a noob please. Ruby on Rails API project in hand. I cloned it from github, started it (it was hard on Windows 8, but still), gave port 3000 (localhost: 3000). In general, you need (do not laugh) to steer this curiosity, test it, but alas and ah ... The API ignores html, i.e. obviously not in the browser to open. They suggested the curl utility, but I'm afraid it's wooden. Are there any alternatives or a couple of commands toss? I will be glad for any help

You can add the swagger gem if it's not included yet. Then it will be possible to test on the /api/swagger page
