RSS is dead and I overslept?

I am supporting a site on Modx of a small company, I
asked the developer: add RSS to the site,
to which I received an answer:
> RSS news subscription has not been used since the opera browser

Pliz, comment: who is right?

I don’t know how many “inhabitants” use this method, but I haven’t looked at anything in a different way for a year now:
1. I created my feeds on feed.informer.com, web widgets were formed there for insertion
2. I inserted web widgets into my page on protopage.com
Looks something like this (top and bottom of the page excluded):
I look through the browser.
But 3 months ago, the antivirus began to turn off when editing. But this does not interfere with viewing, and everything that I wanted to watch, I put it on for a long time. So tell me if you won't be allowed to create/edit on protopage.com.
