Router selection

Hello to all cheaters.

I understand network equipment badly, therefore I ask for help.

At home there are three computers, an MFP and an external screw. I want to buy a router that will allow me to distribute the Internet normally to all computers (presumably, there will be only one on the LAN) and a couple of smartphones, in addition, allowing me to connect an MFP and a screw to it as shared resources.
The MFP only understands USB.

Looking after Asus RT-N16

Thank you in advance.

For a similar task (all-in-one) I assembled a computer from an old kit. Wired / wireless router, storage, print server, network applications, planning video surveillance and some smart home functions. Everything works under Debian.

They did not say about the incoming channel, but apparently it is a twisted pair.
I haven’t picked anything new from SOHO routers for a long time, so I can advise the “classics”. The Asus WL-5** series and D-Link DIR-3** series have proven themselves quite well. Asus is more expensive, D-Link is cheaper. Now D-Link has risen a little and TP-Link has occupied its niche (according to the first reviews, there are no problems, but there are few statistics).
In addition, there are alternative firmware for Asus and D-Link (from Oleg, for example) and quite a lot of information on support.

I have a DIR-320 with DD-WRT MEGA firmware - Runs 24 hours a day. 7 days/week Two laptops, smartphone, IPTV, Bluetooth, print server, lamp server, samba.
Its price is small, the only thing missing is memory, which can be easily expanded with a USB flash drive :)

I can advise TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND, at its price (about 2000 rubles) it has excellent functionality, 4 gigabit LANs, wi-fi, USB. Works 24/7 for several months, no complaints. There are a lot of alternative firmware. The data transfer speeds over both LAN and Wi-Fi are also impressive.
Moreover, the reviews are mostly positive.

I advise you to look towards MikroTik, very good functionality, much more interesting than home hardware)

A router is the same computer it has a processor, RAM and flash memory the more powerful the processor and the more RAM the better the faster the packets will be processed the more RAM and the more powerful the processor the more packets the router can process
in any router there is NAT its task is to convert ip addresses, for example, 192.168.1.101 to 65.96.14.77, this is a resource-intensive task if the router has a weak processor and little RAM, then the router cannot process many packets, as a result, the speed drops or the router freezes
At this point in time, NOT all routers can work correctly with ipv6
, I will list those that they can Mikrotik, d'link can (
I recommend to buy), but in TP-Link routers ipv6 support is declared but it does not work normally
