Resolved. Network name standardization. How?
Good afternoon!
It is necessary to come up with a single standard for naming user computers on the network.
There are about 8 departments like PTO, personnel department, etc. User computers 80 pieces +-.
The issue is that the office has a high turnover of personnel and it is impossible to know who quit and who came to the same place. Previously, computers were called "PTO-Ivanov" but very soon a terrible confusion arose. Now such computers can be found in another department and a completely different person will work on them.
There was an idea to call PTO1, PTO2 and already change the names of the employees who sit behind it in the description, but there is also a nuance here - computers usually do not stand in one place and can move around departments as needed.
In general, I'm in a stupor. Maybe you have ideas how to proceed?

I read about a year ago about the correct identification of computers in the office network. Now I couldn't find the thread right off the bat. Maybe this one , but it seems there was something else on a similar topic.
[type][department][##]
Type - laptop\desktop
department - an abbreviation of 2-3 letters (if computers are often transferred, then it is possible without a department)
No. - in order
As I understand it, they do not have a geographical or functional distribution?
And I personally do not see the point in writing down the user's last name already in the network name. After all, Windows has been multi-user for more than 10 years;)
Of all the naming schemes that were tried to be used in different networks, in the end, the following one took root best for desktops:
[branch] - [department] - [number]
where the number matched the phone number at the workplace. When calling from a user, you do not have to climb into the directory.
In any case, I would recommend renaming the computer when moving to a new location, along with the revision of the software on it.
if computers are also movable, then it is best to number and indicate the number in a prominent place on the computer
In our company, we use almost the same as z3apa3a wrote , cars are divided only by branches, for example, Moscow m (No.), Novosib n (No.). Very convenient IMHO, about 600 users in the company, no confusion. The main thing is that the user knows where to look at the computer name;)
If the computers are in the same physical subnet, then it is easier to name them by the inventory number, for example, the system unit is 10001, 10002, the monitors have 20001 and so on all the equipment, all these numbers are printed on stickers and attached to the equipment. It is the same with printers, for example, printer 30001 on the print server is called that, and users know how to see the name of the printer, there are no questions about connecting.
