Repair or build from scratch?

Good day, dear Khabrovites!
The situation is as follows:
There are three Asus RT-N16 routers with firmware from enthusiasts. One acts as an AP, the other repeaters. Accordingly, the SSID is one, the settings are one, the user transparently moves from the zone of one router to the zone of another and the network is not lost. Mimimimimi.
But trouble arises. No, there is SORROW! Sometimes something in the ideal world breaks down and repeater clients stop receiving IP addresses from the main one (Getting an IP address from the SSID hangs. Everything is ok near the main one). We distort (reboot) the main one - everything is restored until the next time. Now we proactively reboot the main router by krone every 4 hours. But it's a crutch.

I decided to try other firmware - native Asus and DD-WRT.
Native looks beautiful, but knows little. Installing a bridge between routers ended in nothing.
I liked DD-WRT, but when installing the Repeater Bridge according to the instructions (http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge), each bridge needs its own SSID (total two extra networks that annoy me very much) And the connection must be to each in its own zone. Those. the client is not picked up from another repeater

Is there a correct way to make one large network coverage on some firmware?
Or so that the current connection does not fall off. Or tell me how this issue is organized for you? Any unified Wi-Fi control center? ..

In your case, I would flash DD-WRT and build a WDS network.
1 - This technology is supported in the firmware.
2 - Switching from point to point is absolutely transparent.
3 - SSID is one for the entire network
4 - Hardware points know who is where (poppy addresses of neighbors are registered)
There is one minus, but it will probably go away with your direct hands - this is that I could not configure WPA2 security, only WEP.

repeater mode on the network for 30, albeit not very active clients, this is of course a tin. If I were you, I would do the following:
1. I would configure routers for 3 non-overlapping channels (1, 6 and 11). I would look for any competing points, and arrange these 3 to get a minimum of intersections.
2. I would configure all 3 routers as AP but with the same SSID and key, with the same authorization parameters (WPA2, AES)
I would then monitor the behavior of the network. You will most likely be back to normal at this stage.

If we do everything wisely, then change the equipment to

Look, maybe this is exactly what you need, and with a margin for the future growth.
