Got one powerful unit server, and decided to use it for rendering. I didn't deal with this myself, I found only solutions based on several servers.
Who faced this? In which direction to dig or maybe there are manuals ready for construction. Or with one nothing sensible will come of it?

The server is essentially a regular computer, render on it as before on a regular computer.
And software for a large number of servers is because you are looking for a render farm by keyword, and a farm means a lot of computers.

Both mental and vray (probably also blender) can work as a slave, and everything is available under linux. Install, connect the node to network render, use it.
