Renaming an AD domain from mydomain.local to corp.mydomain.group?

I got a job in a company and ended up on a domain with a .local zone
. At the moment, the domain has just begun to deploy, at the time of my arrival, a domain was created and only servers were introduced. The company that was engaged before me (outsourcing company) merged, I will not say the reasons.
Now there are only 4 servers in the domain: server 2016 everywhere
First: Domain Controler&Terminal Server&Hyper-V(HV empty)
Second: Domain Controler&File Server&Hyper-V(HV: Asterisk(with AD integration),Third server)
Third: Print server(almost not used)
Fourth: SQL SERVER
Now I'm thinking about renaming the domain so that I don't run into problems in the future. For example, an SSL certificate will be required in the near future, and it will not be released on .local.
Therefore, I was going to rename the domain to corp.mydomain.group
mydomain.group has already been acquired by the company, the site that is located at the hosting provider is spinning on it.
mydomain.local was previously renamed to mydomainname.local on 2008 servers. Using the instructions:
gpo-planet.com/?p=4549
Now faced with a moment when renaming.
In the Domainlist.xml file

Inside this file, you need to change the domain name inside the section that is delimited by the and tags and the NetBIOS name inside the and tags). Be sure to note that you must not change the GUID inside the corresponding tags.

Changed DNSname to corp.ovm.group
But I can't figure out how to set netbios correctly.
It was mydomain
Did I understand correctly that I need to put netbios corp.mydomain?

I don’t know what scares you so much. local, but if there’s nothing at all with it, I would raise it from scratch if I were you.
a) anyway, you have an empty blood pressure there
b) anyway, it is already "polluted" :) (TS on CD)

Domain Controler&Terminal Server&Hyper-V(HV empty)

Nishtyak, on the domain controller a terminal server.
The problem is not the choice of the domain name, it lies much deeper.

You have four servers in total - raise from scratch.
And better not make a terminal on cd) 0) 00) 0

Guys, I already planned all your recommendations.
Since the servers cannot cope with the load, new ones have now been ordered.
(old simple system units and one rackmount supermicro)
On the new ones we make a hyper-v cluster and we are already deploying everything on it.
Since there are already more than 160 users in the company, everyone is in the wrong domain, I don’t want to do everything from scratch. The company that serviced them is still sitting in the 2000s. Domains are perceived with hostility, and when they asked for a domain, they did it.
Thank you for the article . You helped a lot

The answer to my question is simple: corp
On the test bench, the renaming was successful.
