Reliable mail server under windows for internal network?

Hello, there is a small office with 40 computers. The authorities want to have internal mail for correspondence with customers. Unfortunately, I have not come across mailers, I know for sure that exchange and kerio are not suitable for us! (let's not tritely pull litsuhu) Google gives out many different mail servers, in particular this option. Who used, from personal experience, advise which mail server is better to use? Thanks in advance!!!

the word windows knocks me out ;) I would advise you iredmail, but....
In general, one small server under centos with iredmail installed would save you;) The server is installed and working;)

It is not clear what purpose is pursued - "internal mail for correspondence with customers" is some kind of dregs.
Specify the details about why this is actually needed and what is "internal mail" in your understanding.
I have an assumption that here we are talking about linking your domain to mail.

take a ready-made VM image on the same turnkey linux and don't worry. Or OpenExchange - it also seems to have a ready-made VM.
