Everything is pretty simple. If the user follows such a link and writes something to the bot, then in the message object, in addition to other parameters (id, date, etc.), ref and ref_source will also be returned. Are VK bots able to intercept values ​​from the address bar? I am not familiar with their api, but I believe that it is possible to go simpler - let the inviter write a link to the friend's page to the bot. After that, when his friend wrote to the bot, he asks "Are you invited by Vasya Pupkin?" and he agrees or rejects.
Or vice versa, if the invitee is more motivated, then ask him for a link to the one who invited him, promise goodies and, if matches are found in the database, then give a gift "thank you".
