Recommend messenger for Windows

I'm looking for a decent messenger for Windows that supports the Google Talk protocol. Support for icq and other protocols is optional. What you want: a nice interface, emoticons, normal history storage, no extra bells and whistles. Qip, miranda, google talk have already tried, somehow the soul did not lie down to them.

I use Pidgin : Ubuntu at home and Windows at work. Set up history sync via Dropbox.

Google Talk is Jabber, I understand? then try Psi. I don’t promise a particularly amazing interface, but this is a messenger with the best support for this protocol. supports gpg encryption and browsing jabber services and directories

Have you tried ICQ itself? The latest versions seem to support Google Talk...

And I liked SafeUM, it is an interesting and completely safe messenger and works on any platform.
