Recommend literature on ASP.NET and C#

Hello, for 4.5 years I have been closely engaged in web programming in php and only in it. I was very interested in programming in general and went to study for 2 higher degrees in programming. But unfortunately you have to learn by correspondence. I think you can guess about the knowledge gained. However, the desire does not leave me. At the university, he wrote a program for the converter of physical quantities in Visual Basic. However, desktop applications do not attract me, I would like to focus on web applications in the future. I learn best by reading paper sources. I looked at online bookstores, but there are a large number of different books. What would you advise on this topic?

" C# 4.0 and the .NET 4 Platform for Professionals " Nagel K., Ivien B., Glynn J., Watson K.
Excellent book, written in simple and understandable language, everything is covered ( 1440 pages !) - winforms, asp.net, asp .net mvc, silverlight, WPF, xml, services, ado.net, working with SQL server and Entity framework.
You should not be afraid of the “for professionals” postscripts, 900 pages are devoted to the basics, it is described in great detail about OOP under C #, programming techniques from simple generalizations to unsafe code, all this is detailed with surprisingly intelligible examples.

By C# - CLR via C#. Programming on the Microsoft .NET
Plus platform, I can advise you to read the language specification itself, of course it is not in paper form, but it is very easily written and with examples.
Pure ASP.NET, don't touch it, it's kind of like the last century. Today ASP.NET MVC 3.0 is in the yard.
But there are few books on it. In Russian, probably only in older versions. Pro ASP.NET MVC 3 Framework Steven Sanderson just came to me from Amazon
, at first glance it is an sensible book, only very thick.

For a quick mastery, I recommend Troelsen, for a deeper study - Richter - CLR via C #.
ASP.NET MVC - I don’t know, I haven’t studied it, to be honest, so I can’t suggest anything.

Thanks everyone, now I will choose between the
C# 4.0 complete guide
and
the C# 2010 programming language and the .NET 4.0 platform. Take an exciting journey through the .NET universe
something tells me the former is easier to understand

on ASP.NET, a good book
"Matthew McDonald, Mario Spusta - Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 (3.5) with C # examples for professionals"
Jeffrey Richter "CLR via C #. Programming on the Microsoft .NET Platform - just a great book
