Recommend Literature for Learning WordPress

Hello, I'm a front-end developer. I am good at html, css, js. And then I had a need from time to time to do a simple back-end for some of my sites. Glance fell on WordPress. I don’t know how much JS programming experience will help me understand php and wordpress api, but recommend good literature, preferably in Russian, in order to quickly understand this issue.

If my decision to start learning WP seems wrong to you and you know the solutions better, I will also be happy to listen.

for entry-level - Missing Manual
further - Pro WP
OReilly.WordPress.The.Missing.Manual.2012.Matthew.MacDonald.epub
Wrox.Professional.WordPress.2nd.Ed.2013.Design.and.Development.Brad.Williams.David .Damstra.Hal.Stern.epub
There are separate books on topics, I don’t remember the names, unfortunately
everything else is in the source code and official documentation

1. codex.wordpress.org is the best and most understandable source. I speak as someone who hates official manuals. You won't find anything better in Russian either.
2. Take a look at CMS MODx, maybe it will suit you more, depending on your tasks.
