Recommend a laptop
Hello, for a long time I have not been following especially the novelties in the world of laptops. The msi gt680r itself has a gaming version, along with charging, the weight is 4.5 kg. Spring, summer, I would like to go somewhere to work in a cafe, but I don’t want to carry such a load with me. What can you advise, the desired characteristics:
The minimum possible weight with relatively good performance. Those. preferably at least 8GB of RAM, ssd, i5 processor. And, highly desirable, some sane external design.
The first thing that comes to my mind is mac book air, but there, apparently, it’s hard to upgrade (correct if wrong).
Price in the region of $ 0-2000
I would be grateful.

Air is best, but:
1. Bundles with 8 GB of ram start at about $ 2000
2. Upgrade is impossible, ram is soldered on the motherboard, you can change ssd, but ssd is not standard format, as far as I understand, these are not sold, only in SC .
On the other hand, do you really need to upgrade air with 8GB of memory and ssd? At least for the next 3-4 years, it will be enough for any office / programming tasks.
asus zenbook u500vz or ASUS ZENBOOK UX32VD (Core i7 3517U 1900 Mhz/13.3"/1920x1080/4096Mb/524Gb/DVD no/NVIDIA GeForce GT 620M/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Win 8 64)
Dell Vostro 3360
i7, SSD 128gb, 6gb RAM (expandable to 16), matte screen. Possibility to additionally insert mSata SSD.
Of the minuses - integrated video. If you are not going to play AAA class games, then you will not find anything like this for $1k.
1. Macbook air
2. Dell xps 13 (version since 1080)
3. or you can wait for Lenovo Thinkpad T431s (if you like something like that)
Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 (strange that no one remembered). For 50k you can take a modification with 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and i7. IPS-matrix in the load.
I'm thinking about a new laptop. about different models. Listed in alphabetical order:
dell xps 12
dell xps 13
dell xps 14
lenovo t430u
lenovo t430s
lenovo x230
macbook air 13
macbook pro 13 retina
The widest upgrade choice, as always with lenovo. You can buy with a good screen and processor (take a spare battery at the same time, or even two: reduced and increased from the standard one). A good ssd and memory (up to 32Gb) have to be purchased separately. Actually, I myself am more inclined towards the 430th model, but I have not figured out which version to take. Yes, and we must wait for the release of new intel processors, then take these with a good discount or already add and take the freshest.
It seems to me that the laptop is now strictly selected from personal preferences. I can only advise from my own experience.
I myself have a ThinkPad T420, but it's not the lightest, but with an extra battery it turns into just a portable workstation. To make it easier - you can buy a small size diagonal. And they are also going to start selling the Carbon version, I personally trust them.
And my girlfriend, for example, has a "girl" version - a Samsung ultrabook, it has both an SSD and an i5, and the touchpad is as huge as on a MacBook Air, and weighs only a kilogram and a drop.
I will join the advice to take Asus zenbook ux32vd.
Not bad zenbook ux31a, but only 4GB of RAM and for some reason even with a TN matrix is more expensive than ux32vd, but a little lighter and a battery for 7 hours.
