RAID1 on an integrated Intel ESB2 controller

Tell me, what utilities can be managed in Linux by the built-in Intel ESB2 RAID controller and what difficulties can be encountered on a combat system when using RAID1 on it? Mat. Supermicro X7DVL-E board.

The usual fake raid will only work in Windows, I recommend using the software one.

Faced similar RAID on Supermicro mother.
You make it a utility in the BIOS or from an Intel disk - Linux sees it as its own mdraid with the ddf metadata format (the one that is SNIA DDF).
Of the minuses, for example, for some reason, after the start of Linux, it always starts resyncing such a raid.
And therefore it is better to use the native Linux mdraid format - it always works fine.

Thank you. I will use the usual software raid mdraid.
