"Quick Print" mode for Epson printer under Linux - how?

The Epson L800 printer driver for Linux (Ubuntu 14.04.3) does not have the "quick print" option found in the Windows driver. As a result, printer performance under Linux is 1.5 to 2 times lower than under Windows.
How can this problem be solved?
