Questions about MESH Wi-Fi
I read forums, texts on Habré a lot and even ran cjdns, but I still don’t understand a couple of things:
1) Can an access point in general automatically connect to the nearest access points (if any) and then distribute access to mobile clients? And how is it implemented?
2) Why don't such boards distribute access for everyone under one SSID for auto-connection of mobile clients. Let even agree and make a single SSID and password for encryption over the air?
3) Despite the crypto-anarchist ideas, it seems to me that running at least in parallel the function of the last mile for the Internet would dramatically give coverage. There are a lot of towns and the private sector where normal providers cannot afford to pull wired Internet. In such cases, there is Rostelecom with an extremely poor ADSL or expensive neo-Internet from the big three. I think that the people would be very supportive of this, given that at one time the same people pulled a good wind between houses, organizing house networks.
4) Why are there negative comments about cjdns from i2p lovers on Habré - shouldn’t such a mesh network be an excellent transport, including for overlay networks, p2p messengers, cryptocurrencies, etc.?

. In short, in Russia this is not beneficial to anyone. But there are no enthusiasts. Yes, and the state will put spokes in the wheels of such enthusiasts.
There are already villages in Ireland that are covered with MESH networks with a single uplink optic or satellite from an upstream provider, for example.

cjdns itself is an overlay. Moreover, there is no need to run i2p inside it - the traffic is still encrypted from any host to any host and no one can read it on the way.
The criticism there is mainly due to the fact that Hyperboria is not anonymous (there are static addresses, you can find with whom these addresses are feasting and physically find a person along the chain if there are resources and everyone in the chain turns out to be accommodating). The creator is trying to replace the existing Internet with cjdns and encrypt all traffic on it, but not make everyone anonymous in masks. However, this does not negate the fact that TOR and i2p are also not particularly anonymous in places. Especially when there are few users.
