Question for typographers. How to place a path?

Good afternoon!
Question for typographers. Is it a file path or a URL? How to highlight it in an article? Is it allowed to write in the same font as the text is typed in or in monospace?
The words PHP, HTML, etc. are typed in italics, code segments are typed in monospace on a gray background, and if you stick another style here with monospace but without a background (for URLs or file paths), won't you get a complete pile of styles?
