Protecting the SMF forum from spam and hacking - what to do?
There is the latest release of the forum engine SMF 2.0.11
According to the past experience with CMS 2.0.8 - I remember there was a lot of spam and, as a result, hacking and virus infection.
Wouldn't you like to step on the same rake and somehow secure this engine?
Where to read about it?
Or what are you doing with SMF to make it more secure?
How do you fight spam?
Thank you!

Was it the forum or the hosting that was hacked?
I put keycapcha on my forum, I completely forgot about automatic spam.
And on the project that you had on 2.0.8 - did you have the default settings there?
Beginners could create topics, etc.?
