Proper DNS setup on a laptop
Given:
Local DNS server. Can only return addresses of machines on the local network (I ask superserver.corp - I get 192.168.100.1)
External DNS server. Can only return addresses of machines on the Internet (I ask yandex.ru - I get 77.88.1.11)
Laptop with console Ubuntu 12.04 without network manager. Both these DNS servers are registered in resolv.conf.
Problem:
The laptop sends requests to only one of the DNS servers. The second is ignored.
Question:
Is it possible to configure a laptop so that
A) name resolution requests are sent in parallel,
or
B) In case of an unsuccessful response, the request is sent to the second DNS server.
Thank you in advance.
PS It is not possible to configure the DNS servers themselves.

If the first server responds, but responds with garbage, then it is considered working from the point of view of the system (since there is no mechanism for checking DNS responses).
Raise forwarding on the local DNS server for other domains.
