Programming and science, where to start?

Good afternoon, Please advise. I am a 1st year student, faculty of IT technologies, and from the first year I would like to immediately decide on the choice of the direction of the profession, so that there is a clear plan and an appropriate goal. Help with the choice of direction, I am very interested in physics, biology and mathematics. What you need to study for a profession related to neural networks, AI. And are there any industries linking programming and space (rockets, satellites), or software. and genetic engineering? What other industries like these could you suggest? What languages to study? what sections of mathematics and physics will be needed? How to start programming? I do not think that the university will be able to provide all this necessary knowledge, so I decided to start self-study from the first year without wasting time. Thank you.

I would do so. First, decide what you are really interested in. If games are interesting - that's great, you can apply AI, NN, gene algorithms, physics, and advanced mathematics there. The better you know it, the more interesting and competitive games you can come up with. In the process, it will be possible to switch to any areas of interest (biology, geo, astro, any). Games here will act as one of the application tools with which you can move to any desired.
Another option is startups. Here we need to look more broadly and think about how to apply science. It all depends on the interests and directions in which it will be really interesting for you to move.
