Program for manual registration of events

We need a program for Windows that can record the time of each press of a special button. Preferably in a form that some statistical packages can then easily decipher and analyze the distribution of clicks over time.

The bottom line is that I'm watching a random process, and by pressing a button I want to register events. I need to estimate the distribution of this process in order to calculate something for it. I would also like some sort of statistical software package to do the rest of the work, but that's not necessary as I could feed the Wolfram Mathematica data myself and do the math there. Some code for "Mathematics" that would do the necessary is also suitable.

Hubs, like tags, are quite difficult to choose for such a question, I put them down as well as I could.
