Prevalence of Silver Light
How widespread is SilverLight? Are there any statistics (or personal experience) anywhere on the bounce rate when viewing a site if it is based on SilverLight?
About the fact that almost everyone has access to a computer with this technology, we all heard from Microsoft, but what is the failure rate in reality?

This is by no means a global study, but it is already clear that Microsoft did not lie much when talking about half of all OS users.

Very much depends on the audience of the site. For American users, there are good statistics here (about 55% in August). On Runet, the numbers seem to be smaller, due to the greater prevalence of banner cutters and billed traffic. There is also riastats.com, but there the selection is statistically lame. Almost 80% of the data from one site.
Empirically, this data can be adjusted for the shares of alternative browsers. If the proportion of firelis and chromium among your visitors is higher than the average for the hospital, then silverlight will be better to about the same extent. For example, on one bourgeois site for webmasters, the share of silverlight is about 80%, but IE hangs in third place there after fox and chrome.
The number of bounces depends on how much the user needs your site. If this is not some kind of unique service, then I think, in the most luxurious case, every fifth will bet by the silver, the rest will leave. To do on SL (this also applies to flash) the entire site, I would not advise.
