Premium DNS is it worth it?

I'm making a small portal. Decided to register a domain with a Western registrar. I opted for Namecheap. A domain in the .com zone is $10 and in addition is offered for $5 Premium DNS. I read the description: super security, super fast response. I don't know much about DNS. Can anyone help with advice and share experience. Premium DNS is just another marketing gimmick or useful/needed feature. Is it necessary for a small portal.
