Power saving setting, battery draining quickly after installing Linux Mint?

It was windows 7, the laptop held the battery for about 1-1.5 hours, after installing MINT, it began to last for 10 minutes. I am a beginner penguin user) Laptop: Asus x552c. Laptop is 4 years old.

It strongly depends on the hardware that is in the laptop. In general, I recommend reading on the topic "power save" in Linux on Arch Wiki, Gentoo Wiki, Ubuntu Wiki.
The general principles in general are:

  • Enabling economical governor to control GPU frequency
  • Putting various devices into power saving mode: USB, PCI, wireless adapters

By and large, Linux laptops always run on less battery because the hardware vendors don't share full power-saving information with the kernel developers. But your difference is too big.
First, install the tlp package. Then see what eats up the most energy with the help of the powertop utility.

If you put everything with control, then you can get more time from debian with gnome 3 than on 7ke.
But if you do not follow, then it is better to install xfce lxde and not something beautiful.
