Potential customers began to ask for phone calls more often. Why is that?
Freelancing has always been enough for me to get started with a new client/project. But lately, every second potential client asks to call to discuss the details. It is inconvenient for me both in terms of time spent and mentally - I'm just not used to it. Is it now some kind of mass phenomenon, or was I just lucky before to order without calling?

During the pandemic, everyone is used to zooms, conferences and all that. Perhaps that is why phone calls began to be perceived as something ordinary.
I would advise the following approach: before signing a contract and with fixed-price contracts, try to make phone calls quickly and strictly on business. But with hourly contracts, immediately discuss that any discussions are also part of the work, respectively, do not turn off the timer during the call, and then chat as much as the customer wants.
