Payment cards

Poll: Paying with a plastic card, what are the advantages?

This question arose when I was standing in a long queue at the store and at both checkouts (there are only 2), again, in the 100th, payment from the card does not go through.
If at first I was funny when I heard
- Zin! The card does not pass, I have already started the goods.
It's been really annoying me lately. I think everyone has seen this situation more than once. The question arises:
What makes you (people who pay with plastic everywhere) use plastic so much that you don’t have a penny of cash.
Answers about security are not accepted - there is no problem to peep the pin, and then squeeze the card. And about banknotes, too, is nonsense, we carry tea not medaki in bags.
ps I myself have cards, but cash is always with me.

Well, there's nothing you can do about it. Everything breaks.
Plus one - convenience, no change, calculations, etc. Inserted, dialed pin - ready.
Well, on the Internet, of course, you can’t really put cash in a DVD drive, and now most of your purchases are on the Internet, not counting groceries, of course.
Of course, you need to have cash, but for example, I almost never have it.
In general, the cards will not be needed soon. You put all sorts of chips in your hand and you will pay with a wave of your hand. NFC technologies are already nearby, not yet everywhere, but there are already points with reception.

At Sberbank, 0.5 percent of purchases are returned in the form of bonuses. A trifle, but nice.

Point one: it's faster.
I pulled out a card, inserted it, entered a pin, received an SMS. All. Even signing is no longer accepted, in most cases.
The problem you described with the lagging payment is a rare exception, at least in Moscow. The reason is simple - crappy payment terminals knocking on the payment gateway almost by gprs.
Well, or a failure in the bank.
In most cases, paying by card is getting rid of "Oh, won't you have 32 rubles?" or “Oh, but we don’t have change”, and of course, a big salvation from the Central Asian cashier who calculates the change out loud and on her fingers at the same time for five minutes.
You don't get pulled out of, sorry, anus, pieces of paper. You do not delve into your pockets in search of small things, you do not need to recalculate the change and others like it.
I looked at the amount payable on the terminal - entered the pin - received an SMS. All.
It’s simply simpler, because you don’t have to keep in mind “don’t forget to withdraw the loot”, you don’t dig in search of the necessary banknotes, etc.
Plus, it still ends up in the Internet bank, where it perfectly lines up into beautiful charts by day and month , types of expenses, currency of operations and others.
Plus, you actually bypass the extra "link". Instead of stomping into an ATM, withdrawing money from the card, and then spending it, you just come and pay for your purchases. All.
This is especially true for large amounts.
If my card is pulled out, nothing will happen to it, without a pin and / or confirmation code from SMS, it is a little more than completely useless.
Even if the attacker somehow, which is unlikely, gets my pin, there is a withdrawal limit on the card, and for the first withdrawal, without my knowledge, the card will go into fraud within 10 minutes. The card will be released in 2 weeks, and the loot from the last operation will return within 30 days.
If they pull the loot out of my pocket, then, as it were, goodbye to the loot. All.
Again, one of the easiest ways to steal a card is to count it while withdrawing the bubble from an ATM. The more ATMs in which you withdraw -> the higher the chance of running into a skimmer. So, either you have to go to the “checked” one all the time and keep in your head “yeah, today you need to withdraw N dough”, or every time you shake all parts of the ATM and look for overlays.
program with bonuses from purchases has already been mentioned above. There are also discounts when paying by card (affiliate programs), all sorts of "bonus miles", an increase in% per annum with a card turnover of more than N.
Well, in general, why not?
Using only cash in our time is the same as reading only paper books. But if the craving for paper literature can be determined by aesthetic predilections for the tactile sensations and smell of the book, then it is unlikely that crumpled papers that have passed 28 incomprehensibly whose hands cause the same sympathy.
I myself withdraw cash only for payment where they do not accept cards and in case of a tip in the eatery.
Gentlemen lining up at ATMs twice a month, and withdrawing their entire salary for half an hour, they meet me more often and annoy me more than those who suddenly had a card failed.

1) It really works almost everywhere, the zine that something doesn’t work happens extremely rarely, probably once for several hundred payments.
2) No one has canceled the minimum amount of cash, I always wear it, the one who does not wear that fool.
3) Why is the safety of your money not an argument for you?
4) How are you going to spy on it if I close it with my hand all the time and it is written in any card agreement that I am obliged to close it.
