I agree with George Luxurious , don't be smart, make it a picture, while CSS is not ideally able to do this, there will be flaws, and spend time making it a background, the best solution and it's not so critical in this example.

Inline styles have a maximum weight, to override them you need to apply !important and nth-child is not a pseudo element, it's a pseudo class.
