PHP 5.3.9 and cgi.fix_pathinfo

Good day! Prompt in PHP 5.3.9 the hysteria with cgi.fix_pathinfo 1 is actual? The default in phpinfo() is cgi.fix_pathinfo 1. Should it be changed to 0?
