Phone cases that are permanently connected to the phone, will it not damage the device?

I have been seeing phone cases that are constantly connected to it for a long time, usually they are harmless watches, a battery charge indicator, new notifications, etc., one thing confuses them, they are connected to the charging socket + to which you can still insert the charger, it scared me away, I'm afraid for the electronics of the phone, is there really no other way to connect to the phone?

You can still connect via NFC, but firstly, not all phones have it (hello iPhone), and secondly, then the case will have to use its own battery, which will also need to be charged.
Li-ion batteries practically do not deteriorate from the fact that they are constantly connected / disconnected from charging, so I think these cases will not harm the battery in any way. They can still harm the connector, as written above, but this is unlikely.
