very often this word combination of words slips, there are a lot of articles about it on the Internet. But I would like to get advice on which book or which articles should be read for a complete understanding, preferably with a description of application examples, if you already study and do it, do it right. thanks for answers

Above, Vitek05 suggested a very good book (the authors of which are often referred to as the "gang of four").
I also recommend reading Fowler. Enterprise application templates.

I would suggest starting with Design Patterns by Eric and Elizabeth Freeman. Despite the fact that the book focuses on Java, there are absolutely no problems with pieces of code for a PHP programmer. The presentation is very accessible and interesting, while not suffering from a lack of formal definitions.
