Pathauto - generated synonyms do not work. What could be the problem?

Drupal 7. Pathauto 7.x-1.2.
I installed a template from the template store. I checked everything - the path is generated, but it doesn't work - it's still the address of the link like node/<nid>. And when you go to the generated address - 404. The default template is [node:content-type:machine-name]/[node:title]. It works for pages, but doesn't work for a single node type.
In pathauto removed and generated synonyms again - does not work.
