ovpn linux client?

Good day.
We have - serv openVPN Mikrotik.
A bunch of mini-PCs on ubuntu server i386
We need to make friends with serv and ubuntu.
It would be desirable to do without certificates, purely logins/passwords.
Tell me how best to do it? Or guide/manual
Right now, everything works on pptp, but some providers began to block it sometimes. Therefore, switching to ovpn

Get over yourself and generate certificates with easy-rsa. There is nothing complicated there. CA -> server certificate -> client certificates.
