Outlook 2013 fails to add Gmail account (all instructions followed). How to enter?

I'm trying to add an account to Outlook. I dance with a tambourine, but the spirits do not help.
What am I doing wrong?
Followed every recommendation I could find.
When creating: Manual setting / POP IMAP, and there:
Name, address entered correctly
Account type - IMAP
incoming server - imap.gmail.com
SMTP - smtp.gmail.com
User - GMAIL address
Password - password from GMAIL
Other settings / server outgoing, tried in different combinations:
with and without the "SMTP authentication required" checkbox, and similarly incoming, and manually entered
Additionally: imap server ssl 993, smtp - ssl 465,
In GMAIL itself, insecure applications are allowed, IMAP is enabled.
In short, everything is according to the instructions that I googled - in different versions and combinations.
But I have either at both stages of confirmation:
IMAP - the connection to the server was interrupted
Sending a test message - 0x800ccc17
Either the name / password confirmation dialog pops up endlessly, or both.
GMAIL itself at this time happily wags its tail and sends alerts that protected me and blocked the login attempt. Those. the problem is somewhere with the mail itself, but where - I'll never know.
What are the options where to look for the problem?

Outlook 2013 is still junk. I had the same case. After an hour of butting, he spat. The next attempt was two days later. And about a miracle! Everything worked
Pre-try through thunderbird
