Hello everybody! In our educational institution, there is a question about creating an electronic journal with marks on academic performance and student attendance. At the moment I'm looking for Open Source software, but I can't find anything useful.

Do you have any suggestions for this? Even English versions will do, but a web app is preferable.

In the Russian Federation, in Moscow, there is a corresponding software. You write a letter to the DO for connection (I don’t know the conditions). EJ is available via the web, the system can automatically read information on turnstiles (arrival, departure), etc.
Are you interested in Open Source as open source or free? From the free you are unlikely to find something successful. From everything that I personally know, I will have to finish it for the task, for the customer.
moodle, is huge, clumsy in design, and for it to work "correctly", this is a whole epic. You need to configure, administer and refine. The developers are clumsy, by the way, they offer a solution for improvement.
If you have all the information entered manually, then you can use:
1. Google spreadsheets with Google forms that will allow you to work through the web, manage access, keep records, archive, etc.
2. You can use the ready-made CMS as WordPress and connect / configure a number of plugins to get some kind of analogue of a journal that is close to Google Spreadsheets. But at the same time, you will have a plus in design, you will be able to "create" your own appearance.
3. Take X students and create the solution you need.
