Orbitum - what kind of animal is this?

orbitum.com
Actually, subject. As far as I can see, this is a regular chrome with the addition of a chat panel for social networks and fakes in the form of changing VKontakte topics. This begs the question, why it was impossible to get by with chrome extensions, but began to saw a separate browser?
Who is behind this? Yandex? (well, his logo is without hesitation on the screenshots on the main site)
What's under the hood? Social phishing? Botnet?

You have very strange conclusions, Yandex is behind the browser, while social phishing or a botnet is under the hood :)
The browser is simply tailored for a specific audience and sharpens the browser functionality according to the preferences of this audience.

Probably imprisoned for housewives and blondes. Perhaps some plugins do not give the full effect, and also, for example, I have not seen a "dialog box" among extensions / plugins. Further, perhaps, the name "Orbitum" attracts, and the usual "Chrome, Mozilla" makes them longing (the developer's opinion is most likely) + all sorts of Mail.ru Satellites, Yandex.Bars are screwed in any way.

As far as I know, the developers are a small company from St. Petersburg. In addition to Orbitum, they have some other products.
