Good afternoon. There is an ASUS RT-N14U router. Installed firmware LEDE Reboot 17.01.2. To open resources blocked in Ukraine, I installed OpenVPN and set it to Zaborona_help. When you try to open blocked sites, the site does not open. When connecting to the router via SSH and pinging a blocked site, IP 127.0.0.1 is returned. The provider makes a substitution of the IP address. If in the section Network->Interfaces->LAN->DHCP-server->Advanced settings you specify public DNS - 8.8.8.8., then blocked sites open, then the Zaborona_help tunnel is done correctly. The DNSMASQ daemon is also installed. There is a suspicion that it is incorrectly configured. Since when configuring the client in the properties of the network connection, I have DNS displayed - 8.8.8.8. And the correct IP address of the router must be specified - 192.168.1.1.

The easiest and most working way is to redirect dns requests. It works for me
