How can I set up a VPN so that when connecting to the config, the main IP does not change?

And why will it change? Openvpn brings up another tap/tun interface depending on the setup.
If you do not need to drive all traffic through vpn, then remove it from redirect-gateway def1the config or add it to the client config pull-filter ignore "redirect-gateway"if the redirect arrives from the server.
