Open port for UNIFI how safe?

Hello.

There is a VM with Windows Server 2019, raise a UniFi controller on it. Recently, one plate fell off (it was not displayed in the controller, but it distributed the Internet) through trial and error, it was found that the problem is in the Windows firewall. - disappears. The UniFi website has a list of ports that should be open. Among them is TCP 8080, created a rule for it in the firewall and opened an incoming connection on the domain network and the plate immediately appeared. How secure is this solution? Is it possible to keep this port open?

Yes, you can leave the port open - if you have correctly specified the restriction rule - that is, the network type, source ip.
As far as I understood from the description - the server and WIFI devices are inside the local network?
