Now the Big Three operators allow you to take one Internet package for two SIM cards just for such cases.
I use a separate 4G Wifi Router device for this purpose. A separate SIM card in it, it distributes via wifi. I already turn off data transfer from devices and connect via Wi-Fi.
Pros:
- you can choose a tariff that is beneficial specifically for the Internet
- the battery in the tablet and phone works noticeably longer. wifi eats less energy than 3G \ 4G Internet.
- in zones with 4G I get higher speed)
- you can share with friends without restrictions, you can still connect the laptop and all other gadgets
Cons:
- a separate device with a separate battery that needs to be charged
- the modem can sometimes hang
